Om today's visit to the park I found Trout Lillies that were in bloom. These were in a small patch of the forest where sunlight manages to get through for long enough to keep the plants growing there develop slightly ahead of the rest, a microclimate.

Philadelphia Fleabane has been blooming al over the park in the past week. It's hard to miss, it looks like a small daisy on overdrive. What appears to be a single flower is actually a central disc of hundreds of tiny yellow blooms surrounded by more than 150
